This walk starts from The Hampton Gym, follows footpaths to Barston and Balsall Street, the Millennium Way/Heart of England Way to the West Midlands Golf Club and then footpaths back to the gym.
Starting from the Hampton Gym walk down Old Station Road to Meriden Road, turn right along Meriden Road crossing when safe and then turn left into Fentham Road. At the end of the road take the footpath on the left and follow it straight across fields and a small footbridge until until Oak Lane is reached.
Turn right and then left onto Barston Lane passing the Bulls Head pub. At the church, go through the churchyard via a path on the left which is followed around to the left past a path on the right which is not taken. At the end of the field go through a gate and follow the path across fields, crossing the river Blythe, until Barston Lane is reached and then turn right to Balsall Street.
The walk starts at the gym by going down Old Station Road towards Hampton village, at the end turn right along Meriden Road passing over the railway bridge, cross over the road and continue to the sharp right hand bend and there turn left down Belle Vue Terrace. At the end of Belle Vue Terrace take a short enclosed footpath on the right which leads to a metal gate on the left, go through the gate and, keeping a hedge on the left, proceed along the side of the rough pasture to the end. Here, pass through two gates within 10 yards and keep ahead along the next field still with the hedge on the left, maintain direction across a footbridge into the next field and continue until a farm track is reached, cross over the track and follow a footpath slightly to the left across the middle of a cultivated field. Passing through a gap in the hedge enter a field and make for a gap in the fence on the right, go through the gap and turn left onto a lane.

Walk through the meadow keeping a hedge close on your left, at the end of the meadow go through two gates within 10 yards passing into a cultivated field, still keeping the hedge close on your left go through two fields to a gate leading onto a farm track. Dogleg left and right into a field keeping the hedge close on your right to a stile into the next field. In a short distance you arrive at a stile on your right leading to a lane, cross over onto the lane, turn left and go ahead along the lane to Walsal End, where the lane turns sharp right, go to the left and go straight ahead in front of a group of newly built houses to a gate leading to a wooded area. Go over a stile and through the wooded area, follow a track left and right as you exit the wooded area into a cultivated field, proceed across the middle of the field to a footbridge and then across the middle of two further fields into a field where you need to keep to the edge with a hedge close on your left.
