This Amble from The Red Lion in Claverdon on 22 Dec was led by Mary Coles. The route is entirely on country lanes so is especially good for when the fields are very muddy.
Mary led a hike of around 7.5 miles (12 km) from The Red Lion, Claverdon, CV35 8PE (Google Maps) on Sat 19 Oct. The route went through Wolverton and Langley and then back to Claverdon via Barnmoor Green. This amble from The Red Lion, Claverdon, CV35 8PE, on Sunday 1st September was led by Mary Coles. The 5 1/2 mile loop is mainly on footpaths through fields and on quiet lanes; it also takes in Yarningale Common, Preston Bagot and a short section of the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal towpath.

The walk took place on Sun 7 Jul from the Church Carpark, Claverdon Church Centre, Church Road, Claverdon, CV35 8PD. The walk via Wolverton and Langley was just over 5 miles long (8.5km) and was led by Mary.
An amble from the Fleur De Lys, Lapworth St, Lowsonford, Henley-in-Arden, B95 5HJ led by John and Sue Timperley.
The walk went from Lowsonford to Pinley Green and then to Claverdon and back to Lowsonford via Yarningale Common and along the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. When we did this walk on 17 Feb 2024 there were several very wet and muddy stretches, so come prepared! The route takes in many little-used footpaths which makes it unusual and different. There are a large number of stiles a couple of which are tricky for large dogs, and many of which are in semi-disrepair.

This walk starts from the Red Lion at Claverdon, CV35 8PE, at 9.30 am and is approximately 8.5 miles long. Car parking in the pub carpark, but please park on the gravelled or grass areas further from the pub.

The walk starts across fields before heading roughly south along the Stratford Canal to pick up the Monarch's Way going south east past Austy Wood to Cutler's Farm. From here it goes north to Tattle Bank before crossing the A4189 near Claverdon on the way to Yarningale Common. It continues north to pick up the Stratford Canal again for a short while before crossing Preston Fields, Preston Bagot church and Church Farm to drop back down to the Crab Mill.
Walk Description: this walk is approximately 8 miles over undulating ground and easy underfoot. The walk started from the Fleur de Lys public house in Lowsonford where there is free car parking.
Leaving the Fleur de Lys car park turn left along the road and then left over the canal bridge, immediately after the canal bridge go left through a gate onto a grassy footpath going uphill. At the top of the hill turn right through a kissing gate and follow the path with a fence on your right, follow the path round to the right and back down hill till you meet Narrow Lane. Cross Narrow Lane and go down a rough track, passing through a farm gate into a field follow the waymark uphill over a stile and across another field downhill to a junction of 5 footpaths. Take the foot path straight ahead (3rd. one round) which is enclosed by bushes and trees, follow this path to a road, turn left along the road to Holywell village.
