This walk starts from the Kings Arms, Knowle B93-0EE. The walk is approximately 9.5 miles long. Car parking is available in the pub car park.
The walk leaves the Kings Arms and heads west across fields to Norton Green farm and then east and south via The Hollies Farm and Fir Tree Farm to the Millennium Way leading to Priory Farm. Here it turns due east along Rising Lane to meet the Heart of England Way at Baddesley Clinton. Follow the HoEW northwards thro' Chadwick End to Fen End Road at Gate Farm where it proceeds westward to Temple Balsall to meet Millennium Way again. Continue along Millennium Way south and west to the Grand Union canal and then head north along the canal for about 500 yards back to the Kings Arms.
Walk Description:
Exit the Kings Arms car park and turn left on the road for about 30 yards and then turn left down a wide track at the entrance to a house. Follow the waymarks along the track and go right through a gate at the end into a field; cross the centre of this field into a second field, which may be very muddy in winter, through a gate into another field follow the right edge of the field to another gate, do not go through the gate, but turn sharp left with the fence close on the right. Continue along the path to yet another gate, turn left through the gate to the farm yard of Norton Green Farm, go round the back of the farmyard (which may very muddy in winter) to a gate in the hedge. Turn left through the gate, and follow the path with the hedge close on the left to a fence, here turn right keeping the hedge on the left to a farm gate, go through and follow the path crossing a footbridge over a stream, bear right and proceed along the path until arriving at a road, Baker's Lane.
Turn left along Baker's Lane looking for a gate on the right, go through the gate and follow the path with the hedge close on the left to field which is crossed diagonally into another field where the hedge is kept close on the left again. Follow the path past Yew Tree House and Fir Tree Farm onto a road, turn left along the road to a track on the right, about 20 yards, and proceed down the track. The track turns left and then right past Valley Farm and then maintain direction across fields to Priory Farm to Rising Lane. Turn left along Rising Lane for just under a mile, crossing the canal and passing the entrance to Baddesley Clinton Manor House, until Convent Farm is reached, turn left down the drive to the farm waymarked Heart of England Way. Follow the HoE Way signs to Chadwick End, cross the Warwick Road at Chadwick End and continue to follow HoE Way down a road between houses slightly to the left. Follow HoE Way signs through a wooded area to a farm yard, cross the farm yard into a field, go diagonally across the field, through a farm gate into another field and keeping the hedge close on the left continue to follow HoE Way signs. After crossing a footbridge proceed across the middle of some six fields to a gate leading onto a road. Here turn right for about 30 yards to a bank and gate on the left, still following HoE Way signs go through the gate and after going through four fields look for a gate in the hedge on the left. Go through the gate and then look for another gate in the hedge on the right, go through and continue to follow HoE Way signs. Eventually a concrete drive is reached leading onto Fen End Road, turn left along the road leaving the HoE Way.
Proceed along Fen End Road for about 1/2 mile and just after entering Temple Balsall turn left down a drive to Temple Farm, this is now Millennium Way. Follow the Millennium Way signs to a road, turn right on the road and maintain direction at a fork in the road onto Chadwick Lane. Continue along Chadwick Lane for about 1/4 mile to a bridleway on the left just past a large white house, the track is signed Millennium Way. Proceed down the bridleway for approx. 1/4 mile to a farm track at which turn right and still following Millennium Way signs proceed to the main Warwick Road. Turn left along the Warwick Road to the drive leading to the Black Boy public house, turn down the drive, when reaching the pub find go past to the canal towpath and then turn right and proceed down the towpath to the first bridge and leave the canal here to go over the bridge back to the Kings Arms car park.
