Cameron's 3rd Night Walk

A walk in the dark from Hampton-in-Arden to Barston and back; a Friday evening adventure! This annual Night Walk is organised by Cameron Grant Memorial Trust in memory of Cameron who took his own life at the age of 21 in November 2014. The route is just over 4 1/2 miles long, and takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours to walk in the dark. For more information, please see the Cameron Grant Memorial Trust website: Cameron's 3rd Night Walk

Cameron would have been 24 on 10 October 2017, and the date of the walk is chosen each year to be on a Friday close to his birthday. The objectives of the Cameron Grant Memorial Trust are to: 1) raise awareness of young suicide, 2) urge all who are suffering in silence to speak up and ask for help, 3) support all who are fighting to overcome poor mental health, especially young people, and especially where this can be done through outdoor activities like hill-walking and the Duke of Edinburgh's award, and 4) assist in the provision of education and support that will help to increase awareness and knowledge of the issues around mental health and well-being for all and especially amongst young people.

You can view the route online here at Outdooractive where you can also download a GPX file. Cameron's Night Walk can be enjoyed at any time of year, in the dark, or in the daylight, but, of course, there are no marshals or special signposts apart from on the Friday evening in October when we organise the Night Walk event.
