Kay Dick led this walk of around 10 miles from The Navigation at Lapworth, Old Warwick Road, Lapworth, Solihull, B94 6NA - a family run, traditional country pub with a passion for great beer and food!
From the pub car park turn left along the road. Turn left following Heart of England Way down a drive and through a gate, into a stable yard. Go through the yard and paddocks. Continue through fields towards Baddesley Clinton. Cross the road, taking the path on the left, through a wooded area to Bromes Park. At the road, turn left until a junction, keep right, then cross the road.
At Convent Farm, follow the drive, through the yard and into a field. Take the path on your left down an old farm track to a road. Turn left, taking the next path on the right through fields to a road. Turn right, over the canal and railway bridge. Take the path on the right down a drive, following the path on the left around the back of the houses, cross a drive, through a gate in a field and across to another gate. Turn right along the road, then taking the next path on your left towards Packwood House. Passing through the middle of two ponds. Go through a gate, turn right alongside the wood, through fields to a road. Here is a fork in the road, bear right then taking the path on the left the Millennium Way. Cross a field, through a gate into a church yard and out the other side continuing down a small road. Then turn right along the road (Glass house Lane) to a fork in the road, taking the left road (Vicarage Road). Then left continue Passing four houses, taking the path by the street light, leaving the (Millennium Way) out into a field, following the hedge on your left through two fields, over two streams (muddy). Turn left through a wooded area until a road. Turn right, then left down onto the canal (bridge 26) continue until turning right over the draw bridge at Drawbridge Farm (Millennium Way)Through the farm, across fields looking out for the path on the left (do not go up the field), over a stream, and up a hill heading towards Lapworth Church. Go through the church yard, passing by a car park, cross the road following the path passing a pond on your right, through fields, cricket field, across field to a road. Turn left down onto the canal, continuing right, descending passing lock gates, the canal shop (bridge 33) The Boot. Go under bridge 35. Following the signs for The Grand Union Canal, over bridge 36 and 36A under the Railway (bridge 36B) Turn left over bridge 37 (sign for Birmingham) continuing along the canal to the next bridge 65. Take the path on the left, up the steps crossing the road to The Navigation.
