Walk Description: this walk starts from the gym in Hampton in Arden and is about 6.5 miles long with no hills and is easy going.
From the gym turn right down Old Station Road and walk to the end where you turn left before crossing Meriden Road and proceeding down The Crescent to a track on your right, turn down the track which takes you to a bridge over the railway. Do not cross the railway, instead turn left and take the footpath which runs alongside the railway, keep to this path passing through a kissing gate and continue along the edge of a cultivated field with the railway on your right until you reach the end of the field. Here turn right under a railway bridge and turn left on the other side, continue along Marsh Lane, a concrete road, with the railway now on your left.
After 300 yards you arrive at a kissing gate with a path on your right leading to Bradnocks Marsh, go straight on through the gate which leads to a raised boardwalk, walk along the boardwalk to the "Packhorse Bridge", after the bridge another raised boardwalk onto a footpath which leads to a railway bridge on the left, the track turns right to Windmill Farm, keep straight on and cross over a stile on your left into a meadow, keep straight on along the edge of the meadow to another stile. Cross the stile and make for a gate in the far right hand corner of the field, go through the gate and continue along the right-hand edge of the next two fields crossing a stile in between them. When you reach a lane, cross straight over and enter a field via a stile, continue ahead with a hedge on your right-hand side to some farm buildings which you pass keeping them to your left. Keep to the right of the next field for 50 yards then cross diagonally to the far left-hand corner which leads onto Bradnocks Marsh Lane.
Cross over the lane to a concrete farm track and proceed up the track between some buildings, past the buildings on your left make for a stile to the left of a building straight ahead, go over the stile to a narrow fenced walkway. At the exit of the walkway follow the path to the right, through a gate and continue following the path to an overgrown narrow path beside a fence on your right. At the end of this path go through a kissing gate into a wild area at the right of a cultivated field, keep to the right of the cultivated area and proceed ahead. After another field you arrive at Wootton Lane, cross the lane and turn right for a few yards looking for a stile on your left set back in the hedge, cross the stile and continue ahead along the right-hand side of the field. Pass through a kissing gate into a meadow in front of Wootton Grange and the over a stile into another meadow, keep ahead with the hedge to your left until you reach a stile on your left leading to the drive of Wootton Grange. Go over the stile, following the Heart of England Way waymarker and turn right along the drive, at the drive entrance go ahead along Wootton Green Lane continuing to follow the HoE waymarkers. At the end of Wootton Green Lane turn right to the A452 road and then turn left to follow the footpath along the A452 over a railway bridge.
After some 200 yards cross the dual carriageway into Park Lane, proceed down Park Lane for about 250 yards and then go through a gate on your left into a wooded area. The wooded area soon opens out into a cultivated field, proceed along the path down the left-hand side of the field, at the end of the field take a footpath to your left, do not cross a bridge straight ahead, Follow the path through a large cultivated field keeping ahead eventually reaching a wood on your right which you will enter for a short distance. On exiting the wood via a stile keep to the left of the field along a hedge on your left, at the end of this field turn right keeping the hedge on your left. In the corner cross a stile into another field, go ahead across the middle of this field to a stile leading to a footbridge with a stile at the far end, cross the footbridge and follow the path with a fenced off quarry to your right. At the end of the path turn left down farm track leading back to A452.
Cross back over the dual carriageway to Marsh Lane with a transport café to your left, turn right down Marsh Lane and continue for about a mile past the Marsh Nature Reserve to Patrick's Farm complex keeping ahead until a gate opens onto Meriden Road. Turn left along the footpath until it runs out then cross the road to the footpath on the other side, continue towards Hampton in Arden over the bridge, some 50 yards over the bridge cross the road to a marked footpath. This footpath diagonally crosses a meadow, keep a raised mound and ditch to your left, when you see a dogleg in the edge of the field ahead of you make for it and keeping the hedge to your right a stile appears ahead leading to a narrow enclosed footpath, go over the stile and follow the footpath until it comes out into the open then the path bends round to the right through a cultivated field. At the far side of the field turn right keeping the hedge on your left, at the end of the field turn left down an enclosed footpath which brings you out to The Crescent, cross the road and go down another narrow enclosed footpath which brings you onto a gravel drive, turn left and proceed to the road. Turn right and come out onto Meriden Road almost opposite to Old Station Road, cross the road and walk up Old Station Road to the gym.
