Hampton Walking arranges weekend walks within 15 miles / 30 mins of Hampton-in-Arden and has 2 groups: Hampton Hikers led by Evan Grant with walks of 7-10 miles, and Arden Amblers led by Bob Reid with shorter walks of 4-6 miles. Hikes and Ambles are on alternate weekends and details of the next couple of walks are shown below.

Our next two local walks

This Amble will start from The Falcon inn, Hatton, CV35 7HA, on Saturday 1st. February at 10.00am and will be led by John & Sue Timperley.  The walk will be some 5.1 miles.

The route is mainly on quiet country lanes to avoid muddy conditions.

Hike from The Boat, Catherine-de-Barnes

Please join Sue and Bill Kiely at 9:30am on Sun 9 Feb for a walk of around 7 miles (11.5km) from The Boat, 222 Hampton Lane, Catherine-de-Barnes, Solihull, B91 2TJ (Google Maps).

In view of the rather damp February weather, Sue and Bill have opted for a walk that mostly comprises towpaths, lanes and paved walking. From The Boat, the route follows the towpath to Kixley Lane in Knowle, goes across to Knowle Nature Reserve, up Longden Road to skirt the golf course and Longden Hall, across to Copt Heath and Grove Farm, and then back to the canal via Henwood.

If you would like to join the walk please email hampton.hikers@outlook.com.
